Sausage and Cheesy Bean Pasties

Pasties are the go-to snack for many of us and are perfect for lunch on the go. Just because you’re a coeliac doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy these deliciously convenient snacks too! With our gluten free Silly Yak pastry, these quick and easy pasties are a certain crowd pleaser. 

Ingredients

  • 8 sausages or 300g sausage meat
  • Half tin baked beans
  • 140g cheddar, grated
  • Splash of milk
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 Pack Silly Yak Gluten Free Pastry 400g

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C
  2. With a sharp knife cut the skins off the sausages and squeeze the meat out. Put the sausage meat into the bowl and mix in the baked beans and cheese
  3. On a floured surface roll our pastry to about the thickness of a £1 coin, take a small bowl place upside down onto rolled out pastry and use as a guide to cut out a circle. Place some of the mixture into the centre of the circle and then fold over to form the pasty shape. Use the milk to brush around the edge of the circle so the pastry sticks together
  4. Take a fork or finger and crimp the edge so no filling escapes when cooked
  5. Brush with the beaten egg, make a hole in the top and place on a baking tray. Continue this process until you have no more pastry or mix let
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden
